When people talk about Autechre, there are generally two camps. For the casually interested, they’re the ’90s electronica act who most conspicuously went weird. After two albums of pretty post-rave listening music, they became the epitome of Difficult Music, something strictly for the heads. For those heads, on the other hand, they’re a quiz show specialist subject, something to be endlessly revised and debated, the minuscule detail of every performance of every one of their thousands of tracks to be studied and deliberated over.
